Local developer McDermott Homes is offering Help to Buy at all their developments across the region.

Help to Buy enables purchasers to snap up a brand new home with a deposit of just 5%. With an equity loan provided by the Government for up to 20% of the purchase price, which is interest and repayment free for the first 5 years, homebuyers then only need a 75% mortgage and should be able to access more competitive rates.

The scheme isn’t exclusive to first time buyers. It can potentially be used by those moving up the housing ladder, providing they’ve sold their current property subject to contract.

Beverley Kemp, sales director for McDermott Homes, explains: “People still tend to see Help to Buy as a means of enabling first time buyers to make that all-important move into homeownership. But while it’s been invaluable to many people starting out, it’s also a great way for homeowners to move to somewhere bigger. To be eligible they’ll need to have sold the property they want to move from subject to contract.

The Chatham offers great accommodation including a lounge at the front with feature bay window, open plan kitchen and dining room to the rear, plus a utility and cloakroom.

Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from an en-suite and overlooks the front of the property,

McDermott Homes are currently developing a range of new homes at Valley View in Billington and Woodland Grange in Bacup. The show homes are now open so why not visit this weekend.
