The recent Autumn Budget saw big savings announced for first time buyers across the UK. Chancellor Philip Hammond has abolished stamp duty on all homes up to £300,000 for first time buyers, representing a massive £5000 saving for cash strapped new home buyers. The change has come into effect immediately and will be a great relief to thousands of people across the region.

Alongside the Help to Buy Scheme, the abolition of the stamp duty is another incentive that the Government has introduced to make home ownership more affordable and more achievable for first time buyers everywhere and is applicable across all McDermott Homes developments.

McDermott Field Sales Manager Lynette Cely says “It’s great news. We’re delighted. First time buyers are often struggling so it’s a real positive that the money they save on stamp duty can now be better spent elsewhere.”
